MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) and the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Ltd. (Aerothai) on Tuesday inked a deal to build, operate, and maintain communication infrastructure in the country.

The agreement involves building three very-high frequency (VHF) air-ground data link stations in Clark, Pampanga; Kalibo, Aklan; and Metro Manila.

Caap and Aerothai operate seven VHF air-ground data link stations across the Philippines, ensuring smooth communication between air traffic services and airline operational control.

Aerothai is a state enterprise overseeing air navigation services and airspace management under the Ministry of Transport in Thailand.

Caap Director General Capt. Manuel Antonio Tamayo and Aerothai President Nopasit Chakpitak signed the agreement in Bangkok, Thailand, on Tuesday, November 26.

In a statement on Tuesday, Tamayo said, “This agreement goes beyond technicalities; it reflects a unified commitment to excellence in aviation service delivery.”
