Fifth time’s the charm for Jerald Napoles, as it took him four failed attempts before pulling off the perfect marriage proposal for his fiancée Kim Molina.
Years before their engagement at the PETA Theater Center last August 2024, Napoles recalled in a recent “Comfort Room” podcast that he has had four different plans in asking for Molina’s hand in marriage — his first attempt being in July 2023 at the Colosseum in Rome, Italy.
Article continues after this advertisement“The first plan was in July 2023. She was supposed to celebrate her birthday and our anniversary on July 22. We had plans to go on vacation in Europe,” he said. “So I thought, ‘Okay, I will propose there.’ Kim really wanted to go to Europe, at the Colosseum.”

The second attempt was to take his proposal to Switzerland — one of Molina’s “dream places” — last December 2023 for a winter wonderland-themed engagement.
Article continues after this advertisement“My plan was to bring her to Zinal Cave, a glacial cave. We would take a hike to see the fantastic view, and then propose to her. I told myself, ‘I had to propose here. But then, that trip did not materialize,” he said.
Article continues after this advertisementAgreeing with Napoles, Molina said canceling their Switzerland trip was a “mutual decision” since they had to prepare themselves financially, knowing that they launched their respective businesses at the time.
On his third attempt, the actor-comedian decided to propose to Molina at Coldplay’s concert at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand last February 2024, since one of their “love songs” is part of the band’s setlist.
Article continues after this advertisementAs they were both huge Coldplay fans, it was only natural to think of proposing while, “Sky Full of Stars” was playing, but the most unromantic thing happened — Molina had diarrhea.
Napoles’ fourth attempt was another go at Italy, as he was planning to bring her to a tourist spot similar to the setting of the musical “Rak of Aegis,” where they first met.
“I wanted to propose on a gondola in Venice. I planned to hire a photographer who will take our pictures while we go about, and then I would propose,” he said. However, the attempt failed because the couple got their visa late.
View this post on InstagramThese failed attempts, however, didn’t stop Napoles from planning the perfect proposal for Molina. He then decided to bring his partner to the PETA Theater Center where their relationship first began.

Molina said this turned out to be the most perfect and “very sentimental moment” for the two of them.
Napoles and Molina have been together for 10 years. They first met while working on “Rak on Aegis” and started as “best friends.” Years later, the latter revealed in an interview that she was the one who courted the actor.
The celebrity couple announced their engagement in August 2024king game, where they were surrounded by their family and close friends.
